EMPEZO LA WSOP 2010!!!

Este año la competición comenzó el 28 de Mayo, y lo hizo espectacularmente fuerte con el Player's Championship.
Este nuevo evento con un buy in de 50.000 $ se disputará en la modalidad de 8 games y a su ganador se le otorgará el Chip Reese Memorial Trophy.
El aumento de popularidad de los juegos mixtos en internet ha dado pie a que este año este nuevo evento sustituya al H.O.R.S.E. (que pasa a jugarse como un evento “Championship” normal, con un buy in de “solo” 10.000 $) como el evento que honrará de ahora en adelante a David Edward 'Chip' Reese. Esta leyenda del poker, era para muchos el mejor y más completo jugador de poker de la historia, y qué mejor evento para honrar su memoria que uno en el que se juega la rotación de juegos más habitual de la Bobby´s room.

Nunca las WSOP habían empezado con un evento de tan alto buy in, y es seguro que este evento atraerá a lo mejores jugadores del mundo. Estos se disputaran el brazalete en 8 modalidades de poker distintas. Limit Hold'em, Omaha High-Low Split-8 or Better, Seven Card Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud High-Low Split-8 or Better, No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, y 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball.

La mesa final se disputará en su totalidad en No limit Hold´em, y el evento será retransmitido por la ESPN, en lo que promete ser un autentico espectáculo del poker.

Otra excitante adición para el calendario de las WSOP que acaban de empezar es el evento de 6-handed no-limit hold'em con un buy in de 25.000 $. Debido al éxito de la medida en el 2009, todos los eventos que tengan en juego un brazalete tendrán el triple del buy-in en fichas y estructuras muy profundas. Asimismo se limita el juego a un máximo de 10 horas por día.

Otra novedad para las WSOP 2010 es que de los cincuenta y siete brazaletes que estarán en juego, 6 serán de un buy in de tan solo 1.000 $. Tradicionalmente solo los eventos exclusivos para mujeres y para la tercera edad se disputaban a este precio, pero el gran éxito del evento “Stimulus Special” (más conocido entre las malas lenguas como “Donkstimulos”) que se disputó en año pasado por primera vez y que atrajo a 6.012 jugadores (record de participación de un evento fuera del main event) ha hecho que durante los primeros 5 fines de semana de las WSOP exista un evento de “bajo” buy in disponible, lo que seguro anima a muchos jugadores aficionados (o “weekend warriors” como se les conoce en los USA) a poder permitirse disfrutar de un evento de las WSOP en las salas de convenciones del Rio All-Suite Hotel y Casino en Las Vegas.

Por cierto que otra novedad es que además de la ya famosa Amazon Room (3500 metros cuadrados de sala) se le une este año la Pavilion Ballroom (casi 5.400 metros cuadrados). La sala Miranda, la más “pequeña” de las salas utilizadas el año pasado (y se podía jugar al futbol en ella) pasara a ser destinada a comedores varios.

El evento más esperado del año, el Main Event de las WSOP comenzará el 5 de julio, en lo que se espere sea de ahora en adelante la tradición de comenzar justo después de la fiesta nacional americana del 4 de julio ( este año coincidió con uno de los días 1). Así no tendrán que elegir entre el Main Event y las típicas barbacoas y fuegos artificiales (pero satélites se disputan, que del poker no se necesita días de fiesta ;).

Los integrantes de la mesa final se conocerán el día 17 del mismo mes, y por tercer año consecutivo la mesa final, o los “November Nine” se disputara del 6 al 9 de noviembre en lo que seguramente será un calendario muy similar al de este año.

Para evitar que se repita el fiasco de la última edición, en el que varios días uno del evento tuvieron entradas discretas, mientras que en el día 1D más de 500 jugadores se quedaron fuera del evento por falta de plazas, se supone que ahora se asignará a cada jugador un día de comienzo del evento principal para evitar estos problemas.
